Questions, answered
Is it safe to let an AI fix my server?
The AI works out what’s wrong and proposes fixes, but it can’t act on its own. The agent runs under its own limited account, only connects out to Mellonbot and can only run actions from a fixed catalogue — never arbitrary commands. By default you approve every fix, each one is backed up first and can be undone for 14 days. If you let Mellonbot connect over SSH, your login is used once to install the agent and then deleted.
What servers does it work with?
Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 and Debian 12 on any host — DigitalOcean, Hetzner, AWS and the rest, including servers behind NAT. Other systems get checks only. Shared hosting and site builders aren’t supported.
When does it launch?
We’re building it now and inviting alpha testers in small waves. Join the alpha and we’ll email you when it’s your turn — and follow the build log in the meantime.
What does it cost?
